The AN artist bursary in summer 2025 provided a grounding opportunity for me to explore the creative connections between Stoke-on-Trent and Cornwall. This period allowed for a focused study of experimental filmmaking at CityLit, where the artist learned to use formal elements and editing software to document my journey and express conceptual ideas.

The work included a week-long residency at ACAVA studios in Stoke and a residency at Brickfield near St Austell, where I collaborated with Natalia Kasprzycka and Rosanna Martin.

The residency also featured a wood firing at Brickfield, resulting in the production of ceramic test pieces, and a visit to the Imerys Parkandillick Calciner. Beyond the technical outputs, the experience was defined by the deepening of professional connections and the development of new ways of thinking about documentation that continue to influence my ongoing practice.
